Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield has become the most-famous astronaut of his generation through a bunch of quirky videos from the International Space Station and now his bestselling memoir. One of his retirement projects has been a newly released series of videos highlighting parts of Ireland.
An Astronaut’s Guide to Hurling
An Astronaut’s Guide to the Wild Atlantic Way
Chris Hadfield tries to conquer the Irish language…
An Astronaut’s Guide to the Guinness Storehouse
The obligatory shot of him drinking porter… (Although, I think he got a better tour of the brewery than I did last time I visited.)
An Astronaut’s Guide to Titanic Belfast
Perhaps the most-interesting moment of all these videos is where Hadfield compares the Titanic’s sinking to the two space shuttle disasters. Succeeds in making the Titanic museum look appealing though.
So, whether this is just another publicity stunt or not, it looks like Commander Hadfield had a good time exploring Ireland and making these videos.
